Kicked off in 2018, Berbagi Bola by Ganesport Foundation is a project aimed to stimulate sport participation at grassroots level.
Berbagi Bola (Sharing Balls) started with football as the pilot project since, as according to Nielsen Sports, it’s the most popular sport in Indonesia.
The first initiative saw hundreds of footballs were delivered with free of charge to grassroots communities, thanks to state-owned lender Bank Rakyat Indonesia for sponsoring the project.
Berbagi Bola has been continuing with various source of funds including from crowdfunding community Kitabisa.com.
In long term, the project is intended to increase another 10 percent of sport participation in young adults, which it means that around hundreds of thousands of free balls should be delivered.
